Payment and Billing Policy
- Effective date
- Last updated
In plain language
- There are no payments on Malath today: no prices displayed, no cart, and no payment gateway connected.
- This policy sets out the rules that will govern payment as soon as it is enabled, so they are published and reviewable in advance.
- The amount and currency of any paid service are shown before you confirm. There are no hidden fees.
- Payments are handled by an external payment provider, and Malath does not retain full card details.
This summary is for convenience only. The detailed text below is what governs.
1. Current status
In its current version the platform sells nothing. There is no pricing page, no purchase flow, no subscription, and no integration with any payment gateway.
This policy is published in advance so the commercial rules are clear and available for review before any paid service is switched on.
2. What may be sold
Everything Malath might offer for sale is a purely digital product or service, delivered through the platform itself:
- Access to digital novels or literary works.
- Reading subscriptions granting access to a library or to additional features, once available.
- Digital reading experiences or visual themes.
- Publishing or presentation services for authors, once available.
Malath sells no physical goods. No purchase results in a shipment or physical delivery. See the Digital Content Delivery Policy.
3. Prices and currency
Once a paid service exists, its full price is shown before the confirmation step, in the platform's currency, [To be completed before launch].
We state whether the price includes or excludes tax, and show the total payable before the transaction completes.
No fee is added that was not shown to you before you confirmed. Your own bank may apply currency conversion or other charges outside our control.
4. Taxes
Applicable taxes are charged according to the law that applies and the operator's tax registration status.
The tax registration for this platform has not yet been settled, so the VAT number appears as a placeholder until it is: [To be completed before launch].
5. Payment authorisation
By confirming a payment you confirm that you own the payment method or are authorised to use it, and you authorise us and the payment provider to charge the amount shown.
A verification check or small hold may be placed to confirm the method is valid; it is released according to your bank's process.
6. Accepted payment methods
No payment method is enabled on the platform today.
When payments are switched on, this page will list only the methods that are genuinely integrated. Logos or names of methods that are not integrated will not be displayed.
7. Third-party processing
Payments are processed by an external payment provider, [To be completed before launch].
Card details are entered with that provider directly and are subject to its security systems and policies. Malath retains neither the full card number nor the security code.
8. Receipts and confirmation
When a payment succeeds, an on-screen confirmation shows the amount, a description and the transaction reference.
A receipt is emailed once accounts exist and a registered address is on file.
Keep the transaction reference: it is what we need for any query or refund request.
9. Failed payments
Your bank or the provider may decline a payment for reasons outside our control, such as insufficient funds or security limits.
Access to paid content is not granted unless the payment is confirmed. If an amount is taken without access being granted, the Refund Policy covers it.
A temporary hold may sometimes appear on your statement even though the payment failed. It usually clears within the period your bank sets.
10. Duplicate charges
If the same amount is charged more than once for one transaction, write to us with both transaction references and their dates.
The extra amount is returned once verified, under the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
11. Unauthorised transactions
If you see a charge you did not authorise, contact your bank first and then write to us immediately at [To be completed before launch].
We will help verify it within the limits of the data we hold, and may suspend access associated with the transaction while the review is open.
12. Price changes
Prices may change in future. A change does not affect a purchase that has already completed.
For subscriptions, the advance-notice rules in the Subscription and Auto-Renewal Policy apply.
13. Promotional codes
Discount codes or promotional offers may be issued with conditions and an end date published alongside the offer.
Codes may not be resold or used deceptively, and a benefit may be withdrawn where a code is abused.
14. Disputes and chargebacks
If you want to dispute a charge, please contact us first — handling it with us directly is usually faster than opening a bank dispute.
Where a dispute is raised with your bank, we provide the provider with the transaction records we hold. Access tied to the disputed amount may be suspended until it is resolved.
15. Fraud prevention
We may take reasonable anti-fraud measures, such as additional verification, restricting a payment method, or declining a suspicious transaction, to protect readers and the platform.
16. Contact
Payment and billing questions: [To be completed before launch], or use the Contact and Complaints page.
